Waking Theo unveil new video for ‘To The Lions’‏

Waking Theo Promo shot2 (1)Rising Northern metal combo ‘Waking Theo’ are set to break with their explosive new EP ‘Reborn’ and new video for ‘To The Lions’!

Relentless and uncompromising, soaring and intricate, Waking Theo weld the brutal to the beautiful, creating music that distinctively walks the tight rope between the extreme and the accessible. With a vast cross-section of influences, stemming from classic thrash and metal through to modern-day melodic death and metalcore, Waking Theo carve out a sound that is undoubtedly their own.

The Yorkshire Terriers are set to make their national mark with the release of their brand new video for ‘To The Lions’, which is taken from their forthcoming Ep ‘Reborn’, out this February.

Born in 2006 and busting out of the Yorkshire wilderness, the irrepressible quintet are 100% committed to the execution and construction of their craft. Through extensive gigging and intense rehearsing, Waking Theo have finely tuned their live show, which has led to them being selected for support slots with names such as While She Sleeps, Bleed from Within, Malefice, Trigger the Bloodshed, and many more. Not to mention the fact that the band were hand-picked for this year’s Bloodstock festival, where they eagerly showcased new material to a packed tent of avid metal fans.

But the road to rock stardom is rarely a smooth one, and changes in personnel have slightly hindered Waking Theo’s rise. In early 2012, the band parted ways with their original singer/co-founder soon after the release of their second EP ‘Ghost in the Machine’. The decision was based on the band’s unwavering drive and desire to make a solid impact on the modern day metal scene. Soon after, Waking Theo welcomed aboard Craig Gordon, a passionate and skilled vocalist who now fully completes the current line-up.

Now as an invigorated and revitalised unit. Waking Theo are set to firmly stamp their mark on the Brit metal scene as evidenced by their brand new 3 track EP ‘Reborn’, out this February. From the blistering opening of  their new video single ‘To the Lions’, to the whiplash riffery of ‘Downcast’, onto the track title ‘Reborn’, which heartily displays Craig Gordon’s immense vocal prowess, suitably bolstered by his compatriots’ weighty depth and impressive layering, it’s clear that Waking Theo have arrived. And with a full length album schedule for the later Spring, there’s nothing holding them back this time.

BAND MEMBERS: Craig Gordon – Vocals; Ben Wright – Lead Guitar; Chris Town – Rhythm Guitar; Chris Giles – Bass Guitar; Chris Vinter – Drums.

FOR FANS OF: Sylosis, Bleed From Within, Architects, August Burns Red.

Baddies Farewell Gig!

After the release of their excellent second album Build, UK alternative rock band Baddies have brought an end to their creativity as a band.

The press statement from the band is blow:

Baddies have decided to call it a day. We’ve had some truly great times, but we have also undeniably struggled in the face of indifference, bad luck and a changing industry, and feel that we can’t struggle any longer. We leave behind us a trail of carnage from live shows across the world and 2 albums of which we are insanely proud.

We have decided to do one final show. We owe it to our fans (and ourselves) to bow out in style.

The only place this was ever going to happen was Chinnerys, in our hometown of Southend. The show will take place on 26th October – one day short of the 4-year anniversary of the original release of Battleships.

There will be no support band, just a night of Baddies goodness. We will be playing both Do The Job and Build in full. Both the band and our friends from We Have Your Children will spin tunes until 2am.

Please join us to one final time to celebrate the life and death of Baddies.

Always The Quiet Ones to release ‘Freak show’ EP 5th March February 2012

Ascending skewed-up rock crew ‘Always The Quiet Ones’ unveil their brand new EP ‘Freak Show’ on Monday 5th March 2012, through all digital stores.

Sounding like an early hybrid of Biffy Clyro dishing out dirty messed-up grooves and breeding with the spawn of Tool, Always The Quiet Ones are here to make their twisted mark on the UK scene, and these wired Liverpudlians have the perfect bait in the shape of their new record, suitably titled ‘Freak Show’, coming to treat your ears this spring.

Hailing from Liverpool and taking their moniker from graffiti showcased in the local dockyards, Always The Quiet Ones were born in the later part of 2010 by five sharp forward-thinking individuals: Blas Barragan Jr. (vocals), Joe Danher (guitar), Adam Lucas (guitar), Chris Nicholls (bass) and James Lorenzo (drums). The enterprising quintet soon embarked on a series of frenetic live shows supporting such artists as Deaf Havana, Mojo Fury, Axis Of and Turbogeist, and quickly began garnering strong praise and notoriety from fans and many sectors of the underground press for their own unique brand of off-kilter alt-rock.

Always The Quiet Ones pull from a span of notable influences ranging from the likes of A Perfect Circle, Deftones and Biffy Clyro, through to Oceansize; however the dynamic fivesome undoubtedly manage to stamp their very own indelible mark on proceedings.

The wirey upstarts are now armed with their exciting new EP ‘Freak Show’ and it swerves and pulls the listener right from the get-go. The record is rammed with skewed riffs, intriguing time-signatures and infectious melodies that will leave you pining for more. Never ones to rest on their laurels, the animated rock crew also plan to release a killer new double-A-single which is waiting in the wings for late April 2012.  It’s evident that Always The Quiet Ones are destined for great things. So, look out – Always The Quiet Ones have arrived.

“Its heavy, melodic and catchy, its something that Biffy Clyro used to do in their earlier albums, except these guys do it better. They rip up the rule book and have created something special” CIRCLEPIT.TV
