Lay Siege sign with Monarch Records!‏

RAMPANT UK NOISE NIKS LAY SIEGE HAVE SIGNED WITH HIP LABEL ‘MONARCH RECORDS’ FOR THE RELEASE OF THEIR DEBUT MINI-ALBUM, OUT 6th AUGUST!
Northampton based foursome ‘Lay Siege’ have just signed with Monarch Records for a digital release of their blistering debut mini-album ‘Obolus’, which hits stores next month. Naturally, the band are stoked to join the label’s ranks, guitarist Jamie Steadman says “We’re extremely proud to be the latest addition to the Monarch Records family along with some of the most exciting up and coming bands!”.
The band drop ‘Obolus’ on 6th August, and the record is sure to take Lay Siege above the underground. The UK riff sluggers display a sound that has already been described in quarters as “deliciously sludgy” and “full of head-crushing riffs”. The record kicks off in fierce style with new video/single ‘Explorer’ which instantly pummels your ear drums into surrender with brutal riffery laced with impressive song writing dexterity. ‘The Ferryman’ continues in devastatingly savage fashion, spitting out further colossal rhythms that pound right into your grey matter. The intensity carries forward throughout ‘Glitches’ and ‘Wastelands’, where the band’s genuine guile bubbles to the surface. The metal chiefs finish the album with the immense ‘Solitary Confinement’, which loaded to the nines with biting guitar parts and enterprising breakdowns, turns and bends to snarling effect, suitably rounding off the record.
Look out for the band’s spanking new video ‘Explorer’ and check out the quartet in this month’s Rocksound magazine!
