DARK STARES Debut EP ‘Tell Your Friends’, out 10th September‏

Brit Rocksters ‘Dark Stares’ roll out their debut EP ‘Tell Your Friends’ on Monday 10th September, available through all online stores.

Showcasing an enticing blend of infectious Rock ‘n’ Roll, influenced by the riffy grooves of Queens Of The Stoneage, the classic vibes of Led Zeppelin, and the inventive dexterity of White Stripes, Dark Stares are primed to set loose their own brand of Rock ‘n’ Roll to the nation this Summer!

Born early 2011 and hailing from St Albans, Dark Stares feature three blood brothers – Miles Kristian Howell handles the vocals and guitar, with brothers Taylor and Brett respectively hammering out the beats and supplying the bass groove. Harry Collins perfectly rounds out with the four-piece on lead guitar by adding layered dynamism and gritty depth.

Ever since their inception, the band have continually cut their teeth playing shows; however it wasn’t until the latter part of 2011 when the rising quartet began to play more high profile shows, including a cluster of notably successful dates, managing to rack up supports with Enter Shikari and The Darkness in the process. Now with a growing fan-base in tow, and a hearty live reputation, the band will release their debut EP ‘Tell Your Friends’ to a national audience.

Loaded with intriguing and enticing tracks, the bands’ debut EP flows with impressive maturity, from the pulsating rhythms and mighty riffage of the opening cut and new video ‘Whisky’, to the rock ‘n’ roll swagger of ‘Long Live the King’. The record then draws to a colossal climax with the anthemic ‘Invaders’. Dark Stares release ‘Tell Your Friends’ this September and play a host of festivals over the Summer, with the likes of Fun Lovin Criminals and The Subways, in support.

Dark Stares’ new video for ‘Whisky’ is out now, check it out below:

OURFAMOUS DEAD unleash new Video / Single ‘Claws At The Door’ this Monday!‏

Rising Rampant Electro-rockers ‘Ourfamous Dead’ drop new single ‘Claws At The Door’ on Monday 2nd July 2011, through all digital stores and prepare for ascent.

Pulling from the likes of ‘My Passion’, ‘The Blackout’, and ‘Enter Shikari’, Ourfamous Dead have arrived to feed their contagious warped brand of Hi-Octane electro-rock to the masses!

Born in the latter part of 2009 and hailing from Leeds. Ourfamous Dead are rapidly finding new fans and racking up critical national acclaim for their highly-paced melodic electronic punk. The Yorkshire road warriors have widely toured throughout the UK sharing stages with everyone from ‘Evarose’, ‘Atlas & I’, ‘Dave McPherson (INME)’, and ‘Tyler Mae’, through to ‘Funeral for a Friend’, ‘ISPYSTRANGERS’, ‘Gallows’, and ‘The Blackout’. To assist their climb in becoming a fresh face for the exciting breed of Brit-rock hopefuls, the electro-rock crew released their debut EP ‘I Am Human’ at the tail end of 2011. The record notched up widespread national coverage and sparked many reviews, including a glowing endorsement from Rock Sound Magazine, hailing the band as an ‘infectious amalgamation of AFI and Lost Prophets’.

Ourfamous Dead are now braced to take the UK scene by the scruff of its neck. The dynamic quintet release their brand new single ‘Claws At The Door’ this July; the single is lifted from the band’s eagerly awaited debut album (due for release at the end of the year). Showcasing OFD’s growing maturity and song writing guile, ‘Claws At The Door’ is more anthemic than their previous work, undoubtedly pushing the boundaries and adeptly exploring the use of twisted dynamics and weaving structures. The video for ‘Claws At The Door’ certainly looks the part too; filmed in a dilapidated old theatre, the video is set to light up TV screens during the coming weeks.

ALASKA CAMPUS ‘When We Were Young’, out 10th September‏

Taking the artistry of Bombay Bicycle Club, the groove of Foals, and the enticing texturing of The Smiths, all capped off with tinges of the oft-kilter phrasing of Pavement, Alaska Campus display a sound that pitches impressive dynamic variation. With earnest song-writing and killer tunes, the band are set to bulldoze their way to the upper echelons of the UK music scene.

Hailing from Herfordshire, the alternative foursome Alaska Campus were originally formed in college by Ryan (Vocals/Guitar/Synth) and Daniel (Lead guitar/Synth). Initially, the dynamic duo started out with a post-hardcore sound, but soon broke free of the confines of genre classification, aided by the recruitment of Liam O’Sullivan (Drums) and Liam Fossey (Bass). The newly conceived four-piece marched forward and began to craft their sound, playing a number of shows throughout the South. Soon after, the sprightly quartet released their very first record and EP ‘Keep Yourself Warm’ in the Summer of 2011. The release chalked up strong praise from many sectors of the underground press, and backed by playing a series of high profile shows (notably Bombay Bicycle Club’s official after show), the band began to ascend.

Already making new friends and treading new pathways, Alaska Campus are braced to climb again with the launch of their gripping debut mini-album ‘When We Were Young’. With a rousing knack for addictive melody, the band have created a gem of a record. From the contagious refrain and buoyant flavourings of ‘You Me And The Sun’ through to the animated angular indie-rock of ‘Mon Reve’, the wired alternative combo are poised to be a true force within the scene for many years to come.
