Israeli power/epic metal band Desert give details on their next album.

Israeli power/epic metal band Desert announces a collaboration with Erez Yohanan on the next album!

The band gives the lowdown on the project, this is what they say:
“Oh yeah, it is officially ON!
Desert has entered an intensive process of preparing the next album.
We want it to be as good as it gets, so we though some help will be good for us!
To cut the bulls balls, Desert will be fully collaborating with Erez Yohanan, who will act as a producer of the entire album.
Erez is best known on the metal scene as the mastermind behind the excellent Amaseffer the oriental-prog metal band with great sound and awesome songs, and his works with bands like Orphaned Land, Xenolith and many others.
We are working closely, sharing ideas, working out arrangements, ideas, cool things to add, together.
Star of Delusive Hopes was fully produced abroad, in Italy/Sweden, since we found no way to achieve that modern European metal sound and feel without flying few thousand km north.
This time, we can safely say it is not necessary anymore! The album will be recorded and mixed in Israel, in best studios around, together with Erez, whose skills as a composer, drummer, engineer, producer, will allow us to recreate those insane ideas we have in our heads!
Some of the songs are 90% done, and we like what we hear!
Album mastering will take place at Bazement Studios (Germany) by Marcus Teske (worked with Vanden Plas, Firewind, Amaseffer, Mob Rules, Flower Kings, Ian Parry Consortium Project, Red Circuit, Neal Morse Testimony, Patrick Rondat and many other great acts).
So get ready to hear something you didn’t even dare to expect from Desert! It’s not gonna be a long wait for you and it sure is worth it!
Stay inspired,

Keep watching  for more news about the album as it happens. right here.

ALWAYS THE QUIET ONES to release new single ‘Drought/ Ghost In The Filament’ 20th August.‏

ALWAYS THE QUIET ONES ‘Drought/ Ghost In The Filament’, out 20th August.‏

Pounding on your front door like the bastard love child of Tool and early Biffy Clyro, Always The Quiet Ones have arrived on the UK scene and the North-West rock beasts will continue their ascent with their stunning new double-sided single ‘Drought’ and ‘Ghost In The Filament’, out 20th August.

Spawned in Liverpool at the tail-end of 2010, Always The Quiet Ones take from a range of sources from the groove and heaviness of Deftones and the technical proficiency of Tool through to the leftfield riffery of Biffy Clyro. That said, the UK rockers undoubtedly bring their very own sound to the table, spitting out engaging guitar work and dynamics that will leave you poised for more. From the off, the live-wired fivesome began to embark on a cluster of frenzied live shows supporting the likes of Deaf Havana, Mojo Fury, The Safety Fire and Fighting With Wire, quickly amassing a stellar fan-base for their own brand of off-kilter alternative rock.

In the Spring of 2012, the angular rocksters released ‘Freak Show‘ to widespread critical acclaim. The EP picked up heavy radio rotation on Total Rock Radio, XFM and Kerrang! Radio, as well as notching up extensive national press praise from the likes of Big Cheese, Rocksound, Powerplay, and Kerrang! The twisted upstarts now up the ante with their double-headed new single ‘Drought / Ghost In The Filament’; both cuts pull and swerve at every turn, with their firework display of captivating phrasing and refrains that plunge themselves straight into the skull!

Funeral For A Friend announce departure of drummer Ryan Richards

Funeral For A Friend announce departure of drummer Ryan Richards with Pat Lundy (ex-Rise To Remain) enlisted as new drummer‏.

by Lloyd Williams Photography

One of the UK’s most significant rock bands of the past decade is gearing up to begin a fresh new era as they announce the departure of long-serving drummer Ryan Richards and welcome new drummer Pat Lundy, formerly of Rise To Remain, to the fold. Lundy’s first performances with the band will be at Slam Dunk Festival, starting with the sold-out Leeds date on 26th May and then at Hatfield on 27thMay.

It’s not been an easy decision for Richards but he feels the time is right to move on. He says “After ten wonderful, enriching, emotional and fascinating years being a part of Funeral for a Friend – I’ve decided to hang up my drum sticks. I’ve always put music first in my life – but the time has come now for my family to take the top spot, after patiently waiting and supporting me for the last 10 years and more. I’m stoked to have my good friend Pat Lundy step into my vacant drumstool. There’s not a better drummer than Pat for the job.”

The rest of the band are fully supportive of the decision and excited for what the future is to bring. Says vocalist Matthew Davies-Kreye “We give Ryan our full support and wish him the best in his future endeavours. Now, before you all start running around on the internet ringing the death bells for our band we just wanted to say that we’re extremely excited to announce that Pat Lundy (ex-Rise to Remain) will filling the drummer’s seat and will be kicking asses and taking names from here on in. So you better hold on to your prized snap-backs peeps, this machine ain’t stopping for no one!”

And the new piece in the FFAF puzzle, Pat, can’t wait to get started – “I am well excited about my new band. I’ve shared some of my best touring memories with the boys and you gotta believe there will be plenty more to come. A proper honour to have been asked to be a part of it. The new album is gonna wreck, so get excited. Come say hi and I’ll see yas on tour!”

Funeral For A Friend released latest album ‘Welcome Home Armageddon’ in 2011 to critical acclaim. The band have recently been in the studio working on its follow-up which is set for release through Distiller Records late 2012 / early 2013.

Leeds new guns ‘Chasing Dragons’ are ploughing through the ranks with their exhilarating blend of edgy hard rock; imagine Brody Dalle fronting Avenged Sevenfold, crossed with the energetic delivery of Paramore. With beefy riffs, enticing hooks, and pounding beats, the band are ready to build their army of fans as they release their debut album ‘Take Flight For A Firefight’ on Monday 13th August.

Born in 2011 and bursting straight out of Leeds, Chasing Dragons comprise five fiery individuals from lead singer Tank spitting out potent vocal passages to Zebs and Mitch Sadler duelling with harmonious guitar licks, Ant Varenne handling the bass, and Tom Wheelwright laying out the jack-hammer beats. With a growing fan-base on the rise due to an onslaught of highly successful shows throughout the North, sharing stages with Attack!Attack! (UK), The Headstart, Skarlett Riot, Our Innocence Lost, and others, Chasing Dragons are now prepared to strike out on their own and are braced for nationwide exposure with a host of shows penned for the Autumn (and beyond) to coincide with their album launch.

Chasing Dragons plan to hit the ground running with their national release “Take Flight For A Firefight” this Summer. Produced by acclaimed maestros Graeme Atkinson (Take The Seven) and Carl Bown (While She Sleeps, Fightstar), the record pitches nine tracks that merge heart throbbing vocal lines and harmonious punchy riffs crossed with unrestrained infectious energy. The opening cut ‘Spawn Of The Succubus’ is unashamedly biting and gritty, and is the perfect appetizer for the raucous rock crew. The record then begins to take shape, cleverly weaving its way from the catchy rock-pop hook laden ‘Seeds Of Tomorrow’ to the contagious ‘City Of Steel’. Chasing Dragons have produced an impressive debut and are sure to breakthrough this year; no doubt they’ll fly!
