The Loud to feature on Steve Lamacq’s 6Music show

Merseyside garage-glam rockers The Loud have just been invited to record 4 tracks from their new album at Maida Vale studios, to feature on Steve Lamacq’s 6Music show this September.

Lifted from a musical backdrop of the cut-throat 1980s, portrayed through the records of Echo & The Bunnymen, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Wipers, to the modern barbiturate, Brooklyn howl of Crystal Stilts and their Texan counterparts The Black Angels, THE LOUD sit straddled by esteemed contemporaries in both history and geography. In this void, the band has set about carving their unique blend of brutally aware, post-modern psychedelia. A bastardised, undeniably Liverpudlian take on the vibrant scuzz of Dischord’s Make Up or any of the above, The Loud are a melodic, raucous new addition to the world of vital rock n roll, and you can stream the whole album here:

Produced by Psychedelic architect Ross Halden (Wild Beasts, Forward Russia), the record has been mastered in Los Angeles by Light In The Attic Records in-house maestro, Dave Cooley (The Black Angels, Serge Gainsbourg). Lead single “Amyʼs Gonna Get You” is an infectious glam stomp, whilst the likes of “Horror Show” and, in particular, “A Little Taste Of Home” show the band’s ability to go that step beyond into the full-on blissed out fuzz of the anthemic.

The band were also included in NME’s top 10 downloads of The Week:
