Tricorn to release debut album on11th June‏

BRIT RIFF-SLINGERS TRICORN TO SET LOOSE SELF TITLED DEBUT ALBUM!

Stocked with brazen low-swing mighty riffs and a rhythm section that could level a building block, Tricorn are here to blow your head clean off. The Southern Rockers release their self-titled debut album on 11th June through their own imprint ‘Need Sleep Records’.

Formed in 2008, and hailing from Portsmouth, Tricorn sport a mutual love for the scuzzy riffage of heavyweights Black Sabbath and Motorhead and the guile of Alice In Chains and QOTSA. Siphoning fuel from these powerhouses, Tricorn offer a genuinely refreshing take of their own brand of stripped down, in-your-face low tuned rock.

Ever since Tricorn were formed, the riff monsters have always delivered explosive live shows. Now with a growing fan base cultivated by extensive UK and European touring, the stage is set for the arrival of the band’s eagerly awaited debut record.

The boisterous four-piece have self produced their self-titled debut album which they recorded in just six beer-drenched days. The record is a loud, beefy, testosterone-fuelled rock’n’roll affair balancing melodic hooks with crushing sturdy riffery.

In the modern digital era, Tricorn are running against the grain and are here with an organic, no frills and unprocessed sound. You won’t find any pro-tools or studio gimmicks here; just four good guys having a hell of a time bashing out kick-arse whiskey-fuelled licks and insisting on starting a party. Come along for the ride….

TRACKLISTING: 1. Step Outside; 2. Give Me Some More; 3. Therapist; 4. Where Did It Go; 5. Life Again; 6. Crawl; 7. Girl Lets Ride; 8. Momentum.

Once there he again spent years in several bands of different calibre and levels of achievement, drumming for the likes of thrashers Arbitrater in 1992 when they released the ‘Darkened Reality’ album. For a period of time Larry was ‘official helper and gear carrier’ for Cozy Powell and his drum tech Eddie Naughton during the writing and recording of the Black Sabbath ‘Forbidden’ album. Striking up a friendship with one of his all time drum heroes left an indelible impression on Lawrence; a profound influence of Larry’s playing style and attitude to both music in general and metal in particular.

Over the years since his arrival in the UK Larry has played in several notable bands, including Chokehold (who released three albums, appeared on Channel 4 television and toured with Saxon) and Blaze Bayley; appearing on two studio albums, a live double album and DVD and touring throughout England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Eire, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Croatia, Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Brazil, Poland, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy and Greece between 2007 and 2010.

Larry also authored a book on the Blaze Bayley band’s history entitled ‘At The End Of The Day’, published originally in 2009. This is actually his eleventh book as he has also written ten others about a totally different kind of Heavy Metal: since 2000 he has written non-fiction histories of Germany’s Second World War U-boat service, inspired largely by his lifelong interest in the Second World War and working as a Scuba instructor, diving the wartime wrecks off France.
