The South Wales riff beasts are equipped with the tools to ensure that they will explode this year!

Formed in 2009, soon after introducing themselves to the scene Reaper in Sicily won best unsigned live act by Kerrang! Magazine. The self-proclaimed ‘Power pop’ five-some then went on to sign a record deal with Search and Destroy Records and Raw Power Management. The band’s first single ‘We Are The Show’ received widespread rotation on TV screens throughout the nation, and the record received extensive critical acclaim, including radio airplay on BBC Radio One.

Sadly though, in March 2010, Matthew Jenkins (guitarist) was diagnosed with leukaemia, and the band were instantly placed on a hiatus until the guitarist was well enough to play again. Reaper returned later that year and promptly released two new EPs, appeared at both the Reading and Leeds festivals, and clinched support slots for everyone from Kids In Glass Houses, The Subways, Max Raptor, Attack! Attack!, Mallory Knox, Hawthorne Heights, Fightstar, The Xcerts, Straight Lines, I Spy Strangers and Evarosa, to Hildamay, and many many more.
Now armed with their explosive debut album ‘Islands’, which was recorded by Romesh Dodangoda (Funeral For A Friend & Kids In Glass Houses), the highly-rated five-piece are set to stamp their name firmly on the scene. The album is a prominent piece of modern high energy rock. From its captivating opener ‘50’, to the aptly titled ‘Chuck Norris Got A Chainsaw’ which grabs a hold of your particulars, through to their new video single ‘Horizons’, and onwards to the majestic title track ‘Islands’, the band have sculptured a record that lavishes pounding riffery, soaring melodies, and earnest energy to the listener. Black Market Serotonin put ‘Irons In The Fire’, out on 25th February‏

UK PROGSTERS BLACK MARKET SEROTONINRELEASE BRAND NEW VIDEO SINGLE THIS FEBRUARY WITH THEIR DEBUT ALBUM TO FOLLOW!

Black Market Serotonin Online Promo ShotHopefully bands like Black Market Serotonin will soon be acknowledged and praised for what they are: rock bands with a surfeit of ideas, minds open to all possible outcomes and the passion to turn them into music with authentic depth and power’ ~ Dom Lawson, Classic Rock Presents: Prog
Industrial-progressive unit ‘Black Market Serotonin’ release new video single ‘Irons In The Fire’ on Monday 25th February, taken from their debut album ‘Something From Nothing’ released through Superstar Destroyer Records and all digital stores on Monday 29th April 2013.
On Irons In The Fire, Black Market Serotonin deliver their sharpest statement from upcoming full-length Something From Nothing. From an intro that recalls Nine Inch Nails, chorus that could be Origin of Symmetry Muse and wall-of-sound riffage that harks back to the glory days of Tool and Deftones, it’s clear that these guys enjoy the heavier things in life. Wrapped in a veil of rich melodies the overall effect is not the blunt instrument you might expect; it’s surprisingly accessible, even if it’s still music to headbang to.

Born in 2010 and hailing from Manchester, Black Market Serotonin feature the talents of Andrew Pimblott  (Vocals, Guitars, Keyboards/Samples), Lee Campbell (Bass Guitar), and Michael Colman (Drums/Percussion). The trio met during their University days, and aided by their mutual fondness for thoughtful and progressive rock, they soon became firm friends. After many months of intense rehearsals in Colman’s basement fuelled by caffeine, sleep depravation, and a lack of light, the band emerged with their debut EP Deadbyfiveoclock. The record was released in the Spring of 2011 and garnered widespread praise and accolades from many online publications and bloggers.

Now with indie label Superstar Destroyer putting out the record, Something From Nothing will be unleashed on the nation this Spring. Firstly, the band release a taste of things to come – the brand new video single Irons In The Fire which is lifted from the album. ‘Irons’ perfectly showcases the band’s deft ability to unleash a concise piece of engaging post-rock with measured synth work and vocal lines, all to stunning effect. Black Market Serotonin have arrived.

BAND MEMBERS: Andrew Pimblott – Vocals, Guitars, Keyboards/Samples; Lee Campbell – Bass Guitar; Michael Colman – Drums/Percussion.

FOR FANS OF: Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Tool and Porcupine Tree.

The Cellophane Flowers new album Staring At The World to be released December 3rd

The Cellophane Flowers new album Staring At The World to be released December 3rd‏

Tom Robinson, BBC 6Music
-“Female-fronted slightly offkilter driving pop from London.

Electric Banana - “Staring At The World is an eclectic collection of everything right within indie music. From mysterious otherworldly swells to the no nonsense drive of honest rock The Cellophane Flowers enlists a great future promise” 5/5

Ringmaster Review – “Staring at The World engages thoughts and imagination like the sun invites the day, with warm mesmeric charm veined with heated enterprise. The Cellophane Flowers is a unique melodic joy to soundtrack steamy days and sultry nights.

The Cellophane Flowers are a four piece hailing from all different corners of the world, but settled in London, have taken elements of an eclectic variety of different music and influences to create a gorgeous anthology of sensational indie pop. The album was produced by Dave Allen (The Cure / Depeche Mode / Human League / The Charlatans), and it’s a great continuation from the critical success gained from their recent EP If I Was A Girl, which came out last year.

The ‘Flowers are the masters of driving, quirky pop. Their songs reflect an eclectic array of influences from tribal drumming to West Coast alt-rock to the dark tinge of 80’s pop. Though bustling with ideas, the band leaves the sublime vocals of singer Francesca Corradini with the room to bring their songs to life – there are no superfluous special effects, the organic feel of the music would be perfectly suited to vinyl, a fact that hasn’t escaped the band who always give their CD artwork an LP look and feel.

Staring at the World offers beautiful, delicate vocals infused with haunting melodies, encapsulated in splendour and driven by passion and bursting with modern day tales. If you’re searching for a delicious new album that’s reminiscent of PJ Harvey, The Smiths, The Magic Numbers and the National, thenStaring at the World was made for you.

In their own words, the band explain:

“The ‘Flowers are a force to be reckoned with, leaving unsuspecting audience members dazed and enthused through their whirlwind of sounds, instrument swapping and short but incredibly sweet live sets.”

The Cellophane Flowers are highly excited and very proud of their latest collection, and Nick states:

Creating this album and working with Dave is the most inspiring thing we’ve ever done. We’ve properly mixed it up with our approach to each song – it’s an ‘album’ so we wanted to get the variety of what we do in there. But it’s all held together with some dark lyrics, great hooks and catchy melodies. “

Staring at the World Tracklisting:
1. Voices
2. The Promise
3. Pendulum Eyes
4. Forever Lost
5. Tears of a Clown
6. Rock ‘n’ Roll
7. Belinda
8. Time
9. Lucky Day
10. In a Hole

More Praise for Staring at the World:

For Folk Sakes - “It has a homage to Phil Spector…then morphs into a haze of lo-fi production which is lovely to fall into.

Music She Blogged - “This album is fantastic. Mixing elements of folk (harmonica!) with 80′s space-pop and only the good parts of the alt rock genre of today.

Gold Flake Paint - “a fresh-faced blast of subtle art-rock driven forward by the charmingly unique vocals of Francesca Corradini

THE ACTION PLAN Debut Album ‘Never Say Die’ out 10th December‏

THE ACTION PLAN DEBUT ALBUM DATE AND UK LAUNCH PREPARED!

Up-and-comers ‘The Action Plan’ are poised for a steady climb with the national release of their debut record.

Cleverly binding ultra-hooky choruses with brisk guitar parts and earth-shattering beats, The Action Plan release their rousing debut album ‘Never Say Die’ on 10th December through all digital stores, with UK shows lined up in support.

In drawing power from the contemporary guardians of punk-pop ‘Set Your Goals’ and ‘The Story So Far’, through to heavyweight kings ‘Blink 182’, The Action Plan have formulated a sound that is direct, pacey, and catchy as hell! Although their early days, born in 2008 in the backstreets of South Wales, were blighted by changes in personnel, the band quickly shaped their sound and sharpened their tools, eventually re-tweaking their line-up to rest on Danny (Bass/Vocals), Thom (Guitars), Rich (Guitars), and Harry (Drums). The galvanised four-piece also upped sticks and moved to Bristol to wider horizons and larger audiences, hitting the road to chalk up a plethora of fiery live shows with an array of artists from ‘Catch 22’, ‘The Futureheads’, and ‘Max Raptor’, to Indie-rockers ‘Vampire Weekend’. The melodic punks now stand tall in their own right and with their own singular sound.

This year, The Action Plan have ploughed ever forward, locking themselves in the studio to cut their debut record with Anemic Studios’ Kevin Peters at the helm. The Bristolians have resurfaced with ‘Never Say Die’; a gem of an album, it’s stuffed with fist-in-the-air, sing-along power-pop tracks that are sure to please. The album promptly comes to life with the punchy opener and new video ‘Hometown Hero’, before it reels in listeners with its soaring summertime anthem ‘Had It All’. Moving on, the fantastically frantic ‘Live Strong’ turns up the velocity, before the irrepressible ultimate party tune ‘This One’ wraps itself around your lug holes. The vivacious four-piece have served up an album that effortlessly showcases the band’s unabashed ability to pen a supreme tune. The Action Plan also up with the ante as they prepare for a full-blown assault on the UK; look out for extensive tour dates soon to be announced for the remainder of the year and beyond!

Watch The Action Plan’s new video for ‘Hometown Hero’ below
