BASICK RECORDS sign The Algorithm & Skyharbor

BASICK RECORDS sign 2 new acts: The Algorithm & Skyharbor

BASICK RECORDS have expressed their pleasure in welcoming two exciting new international acts to its ever expanding roster: French electro-metal producer THE ALGORITHM and Indian progressive metal band SKYHARBOR!
The signing of these two new acts further cements BASICK’s reputation as a solid choice for some of the world’s most progressive and forward thinking artists.

The brainchild of talented producer Rémi GallegoTHE ALGORITHM infuses modern metal breakdowns with a menagerie of electronic subgenres such as IDM, chiptune and breakcore to concoct his own potent style of fiercely heavy music.
After a successful premiere of his live show at this years Euroblast Festival, Rémi will now be focusing on playing more shows around Europe, including a BASICK showcase in London, scheduled for early next year.

THE ALGORITHM will release a new single ‘Tr0jans’ (which includes new versions of the tracks ‘Isometry’ and ‘Antikythera…’) and a new, as yet untitled album via BASICK in early 2012.

Starting out as a simple bedroom studio project, guitarist Keshav Dhar has seen SKYHARBOR quickly evolve into one of India’s hottest metal prospects, with huge admiration coming in from some of the biggest names in metal worldwide.
An astonishing amount of buzz also surrounded the bands first ever performance at the Bacardi NH7 Festival in Pune, India earlier this month, where they played to over 1,000 people and were one of the weekend’s highlights.

The long awaited debut album from SKYHARBOR promises to be a landmark release for the Indian independent music scene, in no small part thanks to the incredible number of international guest appearances it will see, including the likes of Marty Friedman (ex Megadeth), Daniel Tompkins (exTesseracT), Vishal J. Singh (Amogh Symphony) and Sunneith Revankar (Bhayanak Maut).

SKYHARBOR will release the debut album ‘Blinding White Noise: Illusion & Chaos’ worldwide via BASICK in early 2012.

MALOKAI, THE UK HIGH OCTANE POWER POPSTERS TO RELEASE NEW EP AND VIDEO

HIGH OCTANE POWER POPSTERS MALOKAI RELEASE NEW EP AND VIDEO AND CONTINUE EXTENSIVE TOURING THROUGHOUT THE UK.

Melodic Punksters MaLoKai will unveil their brand new EP ‘Heart Beats’ on Monday 13th February 2012, through Nameless/Faceless Records and all digital sources. The Punk-poppers merge engaging fast-paced rock with tantalising pop hooks to create a sound that is undeniably contagious and alluring.

Originally formed in 2007, MaLoKai had a series of line-up changes during their early years with meandering guitars and bassists weaving into and out of the band, however the nucleus of the band managed to move forward. Continually touring and recording, they built up a sturdy underground UK fan-base in the process. Critical acclaim and impressive responses were amassed from many quarters for the band’s debut album ‘Perception Of Reality’. However MaLoKai felt that they had yet to find their true potential, and so decided to part ways with members that could not commit and drafted in new recruits. Now with a fully solidified line-up consisting of Alex Greig (Vocals &Guitar), Andy Bell (Guitar), Dack Powell (Guitar), G Suaznabar (Bass) and Dave Williams on drums, and fuelled by countless rehearsals and extensive writing under their belts, the energised quintet have crafted their sound and have a new vigour for life.
The irrepressible punksters headed to the recording studio during the summer of 2011 to lay down tracks for their new EP and they came out of the studio with a real belter of a record. The EP features six blistering tunes loaded with up-tempo arrangements, soaring guitars, and infectious choruses that’ll require a crowbar to prise out of your head. From the ridiculously catchy ‘Rumours’, through to the record’s namesake ‘Heart Beats’, and the stomping ‘What’s Inside’, the UK melodic mobsters have produced a record that is stacked with killer hooks and contagious kinetic energy!

UK Pop-punksters PROMISE ME TOMORROW to release debut mini-album ‘Through It All’

PROMISE ME TOMORROW DEBUT MINI-ALBUM AND UK TOURING!

UK pop-punksters are to release their spanking new mini-album ‘Through It All’ on Monday
23rd January 2012, through all digital stores.

High flying Promise Me Tomorrow are ready to set senses alight in 2012 with their debut mini-album ‘Through It All’. The energetic quartet have a clear focus and a hearty affection for catchy up-beat punk rock. Pulling inspiration from the likes of Kids In Glass Houses, Jimmy Eat World and You Me At Six, Promise Me Tomorrow cunningly weave infectious melodies and up-tempo song structures to stunning effect.

Formed in early 2010, South East Kent rockers, Promise Me Tomorrow, wasted no time in cutting their teeth on the local scene by playing a host of shows throughout the South. After a cluster of highly successful regional performances, the foursome continued their ascent by widening their reach to rack up further shows throughout the whole of the UK. Along the way, the lively upstarts notched up many impressive supports with the likes of Francesqa, Army of Freshmen, Pegasus Bridge and Jody has a Hitlist, Paige, Summerlin and The Morning Of. With these profile dates and a growing reputation for delivering an explosive live performance, the hard-working quartet have greatly expanded their appetite and fanbase.

To further their climb, the band released their debut single/video ‘You Haven’t Seen The Best Of Me‘, (cut by Sitcom Soldiers – ala Funeral For A Friend, DSHS, Fightstar). The single has helped to provide even greater awareness of the band and has set the scene for the four-piece to unleash their explosive debut mini-album ‘Through It All’ this January. The record is packed to the rafters with killer hooks and contagious melodies, from the hook heavy refrain of their past single ‘You Haven’t Seen The Best Of Me’, to the instantly delectable ‘More Than You Know’, which perfectly kicks off the record in supreme style. The release is sure to propel the energetic quartet to the higher echelons of the UK Brit-Rock fraternity in 2012 and beyond.

Manchester Metalers Allerjen to release new album ‘Equilibrium’.

ALLERJEN

THE IRREPRESSIBLE MANCHESTER METAL MERCHANTS RELEASE POWERHOUSE NEW ALBUM!

Northern bruisers spit out their blissfully brutal and brand new full length album ‘Equilibrium’, on Monday 20th February 2012 through Brutal Elite Records/PHD and available through all major digital stores.

Underground UK Metal crew ‘Allerjen’ return to the fold this February with their explosive new record ‘Equilibrium’ and it’s undoubtedly worth the wait. ‘Equilibrium’ is a hearty crossover-mix of Prog, Metal, and Deathcore. The cuts on the record are hard edged, gut-busting and superb on all fronts. Tracks such as the mighty ‘Destroyer Of Worlds’, ‘Treachery By Thy Name’, and the vicious ‘Hunter’ meld together stout beats with ear shattering riffs, capped with a vocal delivery that will refine your senses.

Originally formed late 1999 under the moniker ‘Sphere’, the early incarnation of the band faced many challenges, including a series of line-up changes, before they finally became Allerjen during the summer of 2002. The band suffered another set back in 2003 when they replaced drummers, however Paul Tarbuck stepped up and more than effectively filled the void, galvanising the crew by adding depth and a new-found momentum to the band. Ever since 2005, Allerjen have progressed and amassed a sturdy fanbase through regular UK touring and the output of considered, but quality releases. Through appearances at the Damnation Festival, consecutive slots at the Godless Festival and sharing stages with everyone from Sepultura, Amen, Man Must Die, Biomechanical, Skindred, Khanate, through to the The Inbreds and Forever Never (where the band secured all seven dates on their headline UK tour), the band have managed to cement a place for themselves as a prominent UK underground metal band.

In 2006 & 2007 the band continued to tour the UK to build up steam for the release of their debut full length album “No Guts, No Glory” which hit stores through Psychophonic Records in 2008. The record sparked wide critical acclaim and racked up nationwide coverage, including numerous covermount CD slots with the likes of Metal Hammer, Powerplay, Terrorizer and Zero Tolerance. Throughout 2010 Allerjen took time out and regrouped. During this period the band became a four-piece and drafted long time friend and guitarist Audie Harrison into the mix. Now with a new lease on life and armed with a killer new album, Allerjen are back, bolder and more robust than ever.

Talisman – ‘Taking The Strain’ released 5th March 2012

Talisman – ‘Taking The Strain’ (Bristol Archive Records), out 5th March 2012 (Reggae)‏

Originally issued as a vinyl LP  in 1984, “Takin’ The Strain” was Talisman’s first album. The culmination of a long musical journey as the band had existed in various guises since 1976. At the time of the album’s release Talisman were a three piece. This core of Desmond Taylor (Dehvan Othieno Sengor), Dennison Joseph and Donald de Cordova were supplemented for the recordings by a host of local musicians as well as the engineering and co-production talents of Richard Lewis (UK Scientist), a mainstay of the British reggae scene.

Although they’d been through personnel changes, this line-up were consummate performers and delivered a musical statement for the time. The nine tracks showcasing some variety and even including a soul tune. Having been launched to great fanfare with a live show at The Bristol Studio, then the city’s premier live music venue, the album achieved some success. It also suffered from being released on a small independent label without the muscle to break through to a wider audience.

Having already released Talisman’s earlier recorded output on “Dole Age – The 1981 Reggae Collection” (ARC199), it’s only fitting that Bristol Archive Records should turn their attention to the band’s first studio album. Not only is this the first digital issue, available on both CD and download, but this release is enhanced by the addition of five live cuts recorded at London’s Lyceum in 1985. As well as live performances of “Takin’ The Strain”, “Calamity”, “Ah Wah You Seh” and “Lick & Run” we’ve also included a live version of “Slow Poison”, a track that didn’t make it onto the original issue, but was a key part of the band’s live sets for many years.

In addition to the extra tracks Bristol Archive’s usual attention to detail is evident and the CD comes with a booklet full of archive images and extensive sleeve notes based on the recollections of Lead Vocalist and Guitarist Dehvan Othieno Sengor. Coinciding with a renewed appreciation for their work Talisman have reformed and are now playing gigs throughout the UK, rebuilding the loyal following they once had and winning over a whole new generation of new fans, many of whom weren’t born when “Takin’ the Strain” was first released.
